I woke up feeling invigorated and ended up hugging something. My hand naturally found the most comfortable position, as if it had grabbed hold of something.

Bai Shenfei's cheeks were flushed red. She had not fallen asleep at all. Lin Shen's sudden grab had blanked her mind, leaving her unsure how to respond for a moment. All she could do was pretend not to be woken up.

Hearing the sound of the front door opening from below, Bai Shenfei finally got out of bed, walked swiftly to the window, and peered through the slits of the Venetian blinds, watching Lin Shen leave.

"There's no turning back now. I must carve out my own path," Bai Shenfei relied on Lin Shen's decisive action to cut off all her retreat and any other thoughts. No matter what lay ahead, she had no choice but to keep moving forward.

Even if the path ahead was strewn with thorns and brambles, she could only march on, bloodied.

She had agreed to Lin Shen's request to cut off all other consideration and concentrate solely on forging her own way.

Lin Shen was now filled with regret. If he had known, he would have asked to sleep a few more times; now, finding an excuse to try again was impossible.
